Clinical Technician, Inpatient Wound Care, PRN

The Clinical Technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed registered nurse and is an active member of our dynamic health care team. The Clinical Technician performs a variety of routine duties including direct patient care, observing and reporting changes in the status of patients, providing a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, reinforcing education, and other related duties. Additional duties require front desk and administrative tasks while acting in the role of Unit Secretary. The Clinical Technician maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally. • Experience: CNA, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech, Med Surg Clinical Rotations (Nursing School) experience required.
• Education: High School graduate or US equivalent required.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required.

• Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization
• Assists patients with ambulation and toileting when needed
• Collects, documents and reports patient vital signs
• Provides nursing support as delegated by and RN that is in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness
• Reinforces education from the RN regarding self-care and newborn safety
• Assists in care of the newborn and/or pediatric patient under the supervision of the RN
• Assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient and/or their family members
• Maintains clean and dry linens for patients
• Performs room set-up
• Maintains and cleans equipment and supplies as directed
• Performs administrative support functions including answering phones and call bells, creating and maintaining patient charts, entering billing charges and checking in visitors
• Maintains necessary skills and competencies
