EEG Tehnician


The EEG Technologist performs all EEG diagnostic procedures according to established protocols. This team member must be knowledgeable in all Department and Hospital policies relevant to the EEG Lab. Interpretive, interactive and consultative skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate and otherwise present information in a written, oral or visual fashion is essential. Speaking, typing and telephone skills as well as manual dexterity is required for this position. This team member is responsible for scheduling patients, preparing reports and ensuring that the reports are filed in patient's record.

  • 2 years of equivalent experience
  • BLS required
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • EEG Registry preferred


  • Modifies assessment and interview techniques, identifying the psychosocial, physical and educational needs common to the specific age group. 
  • Provides teaching specific to educational needs with routine reinforcement because of tendency towards denial and non-compliance. 
  • Is capable of administering all modes of routine testing for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and infant patients. 
  • Collects and documents quality improvement data, and participates in QI activities. 
  • Maintains laboratory facilities, equipment and records. 
  • Prepares test results for physician interpretation.
