Purpose & Scope:
The Clinical Performance Improvement Analyst supports the hospital’s Quality Department by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data used for internal and external quality reporting. This role is responsible for validating clinical, operational, and regulatory data submitted for state, federal, and accreditation-related quality reporting requirements. The analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, and IT teams to identify data discrepancies, ensure compliance with reporting specifications, and support performance improvement initiatives through reliable data insights. The scope of work includes data validation, measure specification review, audit preparation, and ongoing monitoring of data quality to support organizational performance improvement and regulatory readiness.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field is required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of clinical/patient care experience is required
One year experience in clinical chart reviews, registry abstraction, data analytics or clinical data management is preferred.
One year of experience in Microsoft Excel is required.
Certification/Licensure:
None.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of healthcare quality concepts, regulatory reporting requirements, and performance improvement methodologies.
Ability to interpret clinical documentation, medical billing codes, and data elements relevant to quality measures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with additional analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
