VHC Health Foundation, Annual Giving & Communications Officer

Job Description

Purpose & Scope: 

The Annual Giving and Communications Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, coordination, and performance tracking of a comprehensive annual giving program for gifts under $25,000, including donor acquisition, retention, recapture, and cultivation.  This role serves as the Foundation’s annual giving operations lead and coordinates communications, translating strategy into campaign calendars, segmented audiences, production timelines, content assets, vendor deliverables, deployment plans and post-campaign reporting.  This position is directly accountable for annual philanthropic revenue, donor pipeline growth, and system wide employee giving.  The position directly partners with the VHC Health Communications and Marketing Lead and Foundation vendors to ensure Foundation communications, events, and outreach are coordinated, mission-centered, and aligned with approved VHC Health priorities and assets.

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 

  • Minimum four (4)  years fundraising, annual giving, campaign operations, development communications or related experience;   healthcare or health system foundation experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience implementing multi‑channel direct response fundraising, digital giving, employee giving or donor engagement campaigns.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with marketing, communications, stewardship, development services, clinical, and operational partners.

  • Strong project management, segmentation, data analysis, reporting and campaign optimization skills; data‑informed decision making required.

  • Experience with CRM systems, appeal coding, source tracking, list management, giving pages and campaign dashboards preferred. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with planned giving vehicles and donor pipeline development preferred.
