Senior Accountant Lead

Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

The Senior Accountant Lead is responsible for leading the financial operations of the hospital system by reviewing daily accounting tasks, reviewing month-end close processes, reviewing financial statements, reviewing reconciled accounts, and leading compliance with regulatory standards. This role collaborates closely with accounting leadership and key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial records and support the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality healthcare.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or in a related field is required.

Experience:

6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.

Strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare accounting principles, and regulatory compliance

Advanced knowledge in accounting software (e.g., Lawson, Oracle, Epic, or similar ERP systems). Workday preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

CPA is required.

Master's degree in accounting or in a related field may be considered in lieu of certification.

  • Advanced proficiency with office technology; Microsoft Outlook and Excel required, and Microsoft Word a plus.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Shows full ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance while proactively identifying and resolving issues
