Registered Nurse - Outpatient Infusion Center (OPIC)

Job Description Summary

VHC Health’s Outpatient Infusion Center is a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where nurses deliver specialized, relationship-based care to adult patients receiving everything from chemotherapy and high-risk infusions to injections, therapeutic phlebotomy, blood transfusions, and central line management. The team cares for approximately 25–45 patients per day, with 2–3 nurses per shift, fostering strong teamwork and flexibility. Each day begins with a morning huddle (7:00–7:30 a.m.) to review patient needs and assignments, followed by scheduled patient care every 15–30 minutes throughout the day, and concludes with wrap-up, charting, and preparation for the next day. Nurses utilize advanced clinical skills including central line care and removal, PIV placement and management, Foley placement and infusion reaction management, caring for complex patients who require close attention to detail and exceptional customer service. Known for outstanding patient experience and employee engagement scores, the team prides itself on a supportive, patient-focused culture where collaboration is the standard.

Full-time nurses work three 10–12 hour shifts Monday–Friday (36 hours/week) with a rotating weekend commitment, and have access to career growth opportunities including Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and Clinical Pathways roles. This is an ideal setting for a detail-oriented, compassionate nurse who thrives in a team environment and wants to build expertise in infusion therapy while making a meaningful impact every day.
