Director Financial Planning & Analysis, Physician Enterprise and Subsidiaries

Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Physician Enterprise and VHC Health Subsidiaries oversees the financial strategy, forecasting, and analysis for all physician-related business units and subsidiary businesses. This senior financial leader translates corporate strategy into actionable financial plans and reports directly to the System Senior Director of FP&A with strong dotted line accountability to the Executive for Physician Enterprise. The role requires advanced financial, strategic, and leadership skills to drive business growth and operational efficiency

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

Master's degree (MBA) is preferred.

Experience:

Extensive experience ( 8–10+ years) in corporate finance or FP&A, including significant experience in a management or leadership role.

Experience in a multi-division, high-growth company is particularly relevant.

Certification/Licensure:

CPA or CMA is preferred.

Other Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry knowledge: A strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including its unique challenges, regulations (such as HIPAA), and financial drivers, is crucial.
  • Technical skills: High proficiency in financial modeling, analysis tools (like Excel), and financial planning software (such as Oracle Hyperion, SAP, or others) is essential. Experience with business intelligence platforms like Tableau or Power BI is also desirable as is experience with EPIC and methods to extract data and ensure accuracy of analysis, reporting and related efforts.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including Physician Enterprise Leadership, Providers and System Executives.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and management abilities are needed to guide and motivate a team toward achieving strategic financial goals, finding and solving for performance improvement opportunities and ensuring all interested parties are aware and aligned to solutions.
  • Strategic thinking: The ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organization is a key requirement for this role.

Working Conditions:

Administrative: Works in a well-lighted/ventilated office setting. Subject to frequent interruptions. Willing to work beyond normal working hours when requested to do so. Minimal occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, hazardous chemicals, noxious odors, latex, or musculoskeletal injuries. May encounter patients, family members, co-workers, and visitors under all conditions, e.g., hostile and/or emotionally upset.
