Purpose & Scope:
Operates the Hospital telephone, voice paging, radio paging and security radio system. Must respond to and appropriately handle all codes and alarms terminating in the communications office. Must perform messaging tasks for answering service. Lead Operator assists with office management as is necessary.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
One - two 2 years of experience in fast-paced hospital setting or related healthcare field.
One year experience in a team leader role preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None.
Other:
The Lead Communication Specialist must have critical thinking skills, the capacity to absorb multi-directional instructions and quickly execute said requests. Be able to communicate effectively in person and over multiple written and verbal electronic modalities. In addition, there must be a demonstrated proficiency in Call Center Operations, medical knowledge, and hospital policies and procedures.
