Purpose & Scope:
The Speech-Language Pathologist's function is to perform a thorough evaluation of patients assigned to him / her, to establish goals and plans of treatment to meet the needs of said patient as outlined in the Rehabilitation Department Procedures / Operational Guidelines Manual, to delegate responsibilities and supervise supportive personnel, to assist in administrative tasks, and to participate in educational and orientation programs.
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Master's degree in speech language pathology is required.
Experience:
One year of experience in speech language pathology in an acute care setting is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
BLS certification is preferred.
