Purpose & Scope:
The primary responsibility of this position is the collection of blood specimens for laboratory testing. Phlebotomists in this role may be stationed at physician office location and are cross-trained to perform blood draws for inpatients or in the Outpatient Lab as needed. In addition to phlebotomy, some computer work is required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
One year of healthcare/ medical - phlebotomy experience is required.
One year of hospital experience is preferred.
Computer experience is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None.
