Purpose & Scope:
Works under the direction of the Administrative Director of Pathology. The Outreach Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating testing done at non-hospital locations. Is also responsible for training of new outreach Lab personnel and quality assurance. Responsible for performing the duties of a phlebotomist as needed. Functions as Coordinator and Lab Liaison, overseeing the daily operations of CLIA waived Point of Care testing. Ensures that all VHC Health outreach labs meet all CLIA Waive testing requirements for quality control, documentation and competency. Responsible for managing and coordinating all activities concerning staff training and access to supply ordering system. Maintains and updates all CLIA waived Point of Care Procedure manuals and required documentation by regulatory. Coordinate with hospital outpatient departments and Pathology leadership to ensure new practice labs are setup appropriately. Serves as the Lab Safety Officer for outreach locations. Ability to multitask and strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Positions requires travel between practices.
Education:
Associate Degree in Science preferred.
Experience:
2 years supervisory including training experience in patient service center
5 years phlebotomy experience
Certification/Licensure:
None required.
