Are you a dynamic construction professional ready to bring major healthcare projects to life? VHC Health is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead the development and execution of critical construction initiatives that directly impact patient care and hospital operations. This is more than just managing timelines and budgets—this is your opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in the DC metro area.

Why VHC Health?

For over 75 years, VHC Health has been a trusted not-for-profit hospital and teaching facility serving the greater Washington, DC area. With 453 beds and a nationally recognized reputation for clinical excellence, we’re growing fast—recently opening our state-of-the-art Outpatient Pavilion and becoming the official Women’s Health Provider for the Washington Commanders.

As a Level II Trauma Center and a Magnet-recognized facility, VHC Health continues to push the boundaries of innovation and care, creating an environment where healthcare professionals—and construction leaders like you—can thrive.

What You’ll Do:

As Construction Project Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind some of the most high-profile and mission-critical construction efforts across our campus. Your work will directly impact patient safety, experience, and care delivery.

  • Lead the full lifecycle of multiple construction projects—from planning and design to implementation and final inspection.

  • Partner with architects, engineers, hospital leadership, and vendors to ensure every project aligns with our high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Review and advise on all architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural plans to optimize feasibility, reduce cost, and expedite timelines.

  • Apply infection prevention protocols using tools such as ICRA, HEPA filtration, and interim life safety measures to ensure uninterrupted patient care during construction.

  • Create and manage project budgets, control costs, and oversee procurement of critical long-lead items.

  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure quality standards and construction specifications are consistently met.

  • Identify risks, recommend design or scope changes, and ensure all compliance, regulatory, and safety measures are followed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A proven construction leader with a strong track record of managing complex healthcare or institutional projects.

  • Adept at stakeholder communication, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • A detail-oriented problem solver with deep knowledge of design review, construction best practices, and safety standards.

  • Familiarity with infection control in a healthcare environment is a major plus.
